User Data Deletion Request
This page explains how ePundith users can request deletion of their account and personal data. We are committed to protecting user privacy and honoring applicable privacy rights.
1. Your Right to Request Deletion
You may request deletion of your ePundith account and personal data at any time, subject to limited legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations.
This request may include deletion of profile information, saved preferences, devotional service preferences, saved locations, personalization data, and app activity associated with your account.
2. How to Submit a Data Deletion Request
- Open the ePundith app.
- Go to Profile or Account Settings.
- Select Privacy or Delete My Account.
- Follow the on-screen verification steps and submit your request.

Please include the email address or phone number linked to your ePundith account. Do not include sensitive personal information unless requested for verification.
3. Verification Process
To protect your account, ePundith may verify your identity before processing a deletion request. Verification may include confirming access to the email address, phone number, or sign-in method associated with your account.
If we cannot reasonably verify that you are the account owner or an authorized representative, we may ask for additional information or be unable to process the request.
4. What Data Will Be Deleted
Depending on your account and app usage, deletion may include:
- Account profile details such as name, email address, and phone number.
- Saved preferences, including language, location, and personalization choices.
- Saved Panchang, festival, puja, sankalpa, chanting, reminder, and schedule preferences.
- Chanting progress, app activity, and personalization history linked to your account.
- Other personal data associated with your ePundith account, where deletion is legally permitted.
5. Data We May Need to Retain
Some information may be retained for a limited period where necessary for legitimate business, legal, security, compliance, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes. Where possible, retained data will be minimized, restricted, or de-identified.
We may also retain aggregated or anonymized information that does not reasonably identify you.
6. Processing Timeline
We will acknowledge your deletion request after submission and process it within a reasonable timeframe required by applicable law. In some cases, additional time may be needed to verify your identity, locate relevant data, or comply with legal requirements.
After deletion is completed, some copies may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups are overwritten or retired according to our retention schedule.
7. Privacy Rights and Legal Compliance
ePundith’s deletion process is designed to support applicable privacy rights, including the right to request deletion or erasure of personal data where required by laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, and California privacy laws including the CCPA/CPRA.
These rights may be subject to legal exceptions, including where data must be retained to complete a transaction, provide a requested service, detect security incidents, comply with law, or protect legal claims.
